A writer, living in a totalitarian state, is subjected to a rather strange interrogation in relation to a spree of child murders that have occurred nearby. The police curiously control all the elements and we wonder -- has the evidence been faked, is the writer reenacting his own fiction, or does this sadistically dark yet funny drama have something else in store for its characters and audience? This brilliantly written play by Martin McDonagh was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play, the New York Drama's Critic Award for Best Foreign Play and nominated for Best Play at the Tony Awards.
